Roscommon County Council is inviting members of the public to help identify bathing areas across the county that should be officially recognised and monitored for water quality, safety and usage.
The consultation gives regular swimmers and local communities an opportunity to have their say on existing designated bathing waters and to suggest new locations that are commonly used for swimming but are not currently officially recognised.
When making a submission, people may wish to consider:
- How the swimming area has been used to date
- The number of people who use the location
- Existing facilities such as signage, parking, toilets and picnic areas
- Accessibility of the site
- Any safety considerations or concerns
This is an opportunity to help ensure that popular swimming locations throughout County Roscommon receive appropriate monitoring and recognition.
