Members of the Castlerea Town Team and community groups from over 60 towns and villages throughout Ireland attended the official launch of the Beara Breifne Way Heritage Stamps on Monday in the Abbey Hotel, Roscommon.

This new walking route ‘Ireland’s Camino’ is based on the historic march of Irish Chieftan O’Sullivan Beara in 1603 through the heart of Ireland and links 60 villages and towns along the way including Castlerea, Ballinlough, Loughglynn, Ballymoe, Ballintubber and Ballaghaderreen.

It will be a major tourist and economic boost for the area and we look forward to bringing you lots more information over the coming weeks and months.
