The starting point is at the entrance across from Castlerea Swimming Pool. If you would like to receive a time for your run you will need to register at //www.parkrun.ie/register/. Once registered you will receive a barcode which you bring along with you on Saturday morning.

“Oh absolutely brilliant” …..The words from Joe Henry as he spoke to Shannonside reporter Daithí Boland after seeing the girls of Castlerea Community School win the All-Ireland Basketball crown in Tallaght this afternoon. In what was a hard-fought win the Castlerea School came out on top after extra time.
Just like the semi-final, the side got off to a bad start but this is a side with great character as they fought back in the first quarter. From the start of the second quarter, this game was very much living up to expectations with all players giving great performances throughout the game before the Castlerea girls pulled away in overtime.
When the buzzer went the celebration were clear to be seen – “Oh the celebrations were crazy and the supporters have been practising those songs for the last week or two and they went absolutely crazy”
Despite the win, it hasn’t taken Joe long to look ahead to even bigger achievements as they now look to do a league and cup double which would be a historic achievement
“We want to be the first team in the history of the school to win a league and cup double”
A fantastic win for the school and we wish them all the best next week in their League semi-final
