Enterprise Castlerea Ltd. are delighted to host a night of culinary treats, when five award-winning chefs from Roscommon showcase their talents at a Cookery Demonstration event in the Hub, Castlerea on Monday, 29th July at 7.30pm. The evening will be part of the Castlerea International Rose Festival.
Alan Fitzmaurice, a native of Castlerea, joined the team at The Glasshouse in Sligo in 2012, having previously worked in The Waterfront Restaurant in Rosses Point and Castle Dargan, Sligo. Alan is no stranger to awards and he loves to take classic dishes and add a new twist, using fresh, locally-sourced produce to engage our taste buds.
Alison Crean, pastry chef in The Abbey Hotel, Roscommon, will also be present on the night. Alison’s most recent award was at the Restaurants Association of Ireland’s Food Oscars 2019, where she was presented with a Best Chef award.
Niall Bracken is head chef in Keenan’s of Tarmonbarry, having previously worked in the Glasson Country House Hotel and Golf Club. Niall also likes to use fresh, local produce in his dishes.
Having worked for over 24 years in multi Michelin star restaurants and five-star hotels across the USA and Europe Ryan Murphy has taken over as head chef in The Yew Tree, Lecarrow since 2018. In his restaruant, he offers classic European and contemporary Irish cuisine, prepared to the highest standard.
Sinead O’Brien, who hails from Castlerea, is the Executive Pastry Chef at Dunboyne Castle Hotel and Spa. The Ivy Restaurant at Dunboyne Castle is noted for its excellent cuisine and its use of wonderful produce from the Co. Meath countryside.
On the night there will also be displays of local artisan food products, food tastings, spot prizes and raffles.

All monies raised will go towards the ongoing development of The Hub. Tickets, which are on sale locally, cost €10 and will also be available at the door on the night.
