Discover the Fascinating World of Bats at Castlerea Demesne
As part of National Biodiversity Week 2026, a special Bat Talk & Walk will take place in The Demesne, Castlerea on Sunday 17th May from 8.30pm to 10pm.
Hosted by Roscommon County Council in association with Bat Conservation Ireland, this unique evening event will feature a fascinating introduction to Irelandβs bats by Catherine Howarth from Coyle Environmental.
Those attending will learn all about the bats found in Ireland, including where they live, what they eat and the important role they play in our environment. Following the talk, participants will head out on a guided evening walk through the adjoining Castlerea Demesne to experience the sights and sounds of nature after dark.
The event is suitable for nature lovers, families and anyone interested in local wildlife and biodiversity.
