Castlerea St. Kevin’s GAA are delighted to announce that their Annual 5km Walk, held in support of Parkinson’s Ireland Roscommon, raised an incredible €3,500. The walk took place in Castlerea on St. Stephen’s Day and brought out a fantastic crowd of local people, families, club members and supporters who were eager to get involved and make a difference.
The event, now a much-loved fixture in the club calendar, is about more than steps and sponsorship; it’s a celebration of community spirit. From young children right up to the most seasoned runners and walkers, it was a morning of friendly faces, good conversation and plenty of encouragement along the route.
The club are genuinely grateful to everyone who came out, donated and took part. Your generosity is what makes fundraising events like this so successful every year. The funds raised will stay within the county and will directly support the work of Parkinson’s Ireland Roscommon, helping individuals and families living with Parkinson’s to access services, resources and support.
Events like this don’t happen on their own, and the club want to acknowledge the volunteers who organised and stewarded the walk, as well as everyone who helped behind the scenes. Your time and effort made the day run smoothly from start to finish.
