Sincere thanks to all who took part, raised funds and sponsored RWN in the VHI Women’s Mini Marathon. A total of €1037.45 has been raised and will go directly to the provision of counselling in RWN.
Roscommon SPCA will hold church gate collections at all Masses in the Castlerea, Trien & Cloonbonnifffe area on July 8th and 9th. Support is urged for this worthy cause.
Groups around Roscommon are invited to attend a meeting in Foxford, Co. Mayo to discuss the establishment of a social car service. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 26th at 8pm in the Mayfly Hotel to discuss the need for a 24hr local rural car transport service to operate within a 10km radius of the village.
Organiser Pat Coyle hopes to establish a “Volunteer and Designated Driver Association of Ireland” in memory of all those who have died in drink-related incidents on the roads of Connacht. “People from villages in Roscommon and others counties may be interested in what could serve as a pilot scheme”, said Pat. Castlerea Cycling Group will be out and about on the roads again this weekend.
Castlerea Group Cycle this Sunday starting at Lidl Carpark at 11 am. The weather is promised good. The route will be 31.5km starting from Castlerea to Ballinlough then to Williamstown where we will have a short tea break then return to Castlerea via Trien. All new people are welcome we keep it at a steady pace so nobody gets left behind.
