Groups around Roscommon are invited to attend a meeting in Foxford, Co. Mayo to discuss the establishment of a social car service. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 26th at 8pm in the Mayfly Hotel to discuss the need for a 24hr local rural car transport service to operate within a 10km radius of the village.

Organiser Pat Coyle hopes to establish a “Volunteer and Designated Driver Association of Ireland” in memory of all those who have died in drink-related incidents on the roads of Connacht. “People from villages in Roscommon and others counties may be interested in what could serve as a pilot scheme”, said Pat. He says the idea is to have “freedom to move withing your community”. For more information contact Pat on 0872512877
