The Hub, Castleberea. A centre for all the community!

The Hub, Castlerea is a Not for Profit Community Centre run on a voluntary basis by Enterprise Castlerea Ltd. Enterprise Castlerea Ltd. was founded 2004. It is currently run by a 13 person committee of local volunteers. The aim of the committee was to try and provide a large scale and flexible community space for the town’s residents, which could be used to support both business start-ups and leisure needs.

In 2017 ‘An Chistin’ was added to the Hub Campus, funded by Roscommon County Council and the Department of Rural and Community Affairs. An Chistin is a primarily a 3rd Level Chef Training College and is also used for community based food events, product development and training.

In 2024 they completed a large scale project with the building of individual ‘incubation units’ destined as a launch pad for small or fledgling food businesses, and is again gratefully funded by the Department of Rural and Community Affairs. The ‘An Chistin Food Hub’ is now home to 3 start up food businesses with space available for another 4 businesses. They can work together with the Roscommon Local Enterprise Office to help interested parties to fulfil their dream of starting or expanding their food business.

The Hub is now home to, Castlerea Boxing Club, Just Go Fitness Gym, Patricia’s Montessori, Badminton Club, A Co-Working Space, Annual Castlerea Musical Society performances, Castlerea Kings Basketball Team, Castlerea Cosmos Ladies Basketball team as well as other small businesses and organisations.
